This course is a unique set of workshops in which you will learn both the verbal and physical language to communicate with your guitarist on and off the stage.

THE KEY TO ALL THESE QUESTIONS LIES IN THE GUITAR.

  • Do you truly understand the musical accents in the rhythm of each flamenco palo? Beware, as these accents don’t always align with the claps we give while playing!
  • Do you know when a “tercio” is completely closed? When can you respond or answer the singing? When and how to request a falseta?
  • Are you familiar with and can you differentiate terms like ‘rueda’, ‘falseta,’ or ‘base’?
  • Do you know for certain when the tercios truly end in a Seguiriya or a Taranto?
  • Do you know how to control the pace in your dance?
  • Do you understand and master who leads the “compás y medio”?

 In this workshop we have the special collaboration of guitarist Andrés Heredia

 Guitar-dance communication will be a series of courses you’ll never forget, providing you with the key to understanding and leading on the stage.

The minimum level necessary to understand and take advantage of this course is intermediate or advanced level.

 If you are or aspire to become a flamenco professional, it is crucial that you understand and master the interaction between the guitarist and the dancer.

We will provide you with the keys for your dance to make sense. You’ll learn how to convey your intentions to the musicians.

You will understand every detail of the rhythm, grasp the musical structures and meanings of each «palo».

You will know what to do or not when dancing without prior rehearsal, and much more that you’ll learn in this invaluable theoretical and practical course.
